On Friday the 13th I drive onto the Kiel ferry, the engine is boiling and a German warning light is blinking red. While waiting in the queue to the ferry, I have to fill up the car with water from a puddle. When I arrive Kiel, I will have a big problem. But worries can wait.
I am driving a VW Transporter Syncro ambulance. It is a 97 model, and has just recently passed the obligatory EU check, with the help of Erling Rød in Askim. The vehicle will be turned into an Artmobile, and will be used for my future projects with the Roma people in Romania.
Eskil, a 28-year-old who looks like he is nineteen, will join me until we get to Krakow. When I drove onto the Kiel ferry, Eskil was standing on a walkway and filming. The trip will be documented from the beginning to the end, because I am going to Auschwitz to meet with Alex Rosén and a TV team from NRK 1 to make a recording for the TV series Folk i farta.
Eskil will come along to Auschwitz, and jump of in Krakow, and I will travel further with the team. They will join me for a week-long trip amongst the Roma people in Romania.
